Playing under clear skies that paved the way for temperatures in the greater Milwaukee area on to eclipse 90 degrees on Friday, the 42nd annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic moved a few steps closer to crowing its tournament champions.

With the men and women each playing two rounds of singles at The Town Club (women) and Western Racquet Club (men), competition extended from the early morning into the evening hours by the time quarterfinal doubles play concluded the session.
