Schuessler's responsibilities will include managing the ITA's social media platforms, video editing and production, graphic design, various digital technologies, and collaborating with other members of the communications department to ensure top stories, videos and relevant content are being promoted.

Her wealth of social and digital media experience will pay immediate benefits to the ITA, with CEO Timothy Russell looking to make leaps and bounds in these areas.

"The ITA is seeking to expand our presence in the digital age," Russell said. "A voice of this generation, Laura will help shape the conversation and our brand as we seek to fully engage friends and fans of college tennis."

Schuessler offered, "I am thrilled to be joining the ITA. Being involved with college tennis over the last two years has been very rewarding and enjoyable. I'm really looking forward to building my career working at this higher level. Erica has been a great mentor and inspiration to me and I could not be more excited to have the opportunity to continue working with her. I know the entire ITA staff has a great vision for this sport and this organization."

Schuessler comes to the ITA from the University of New Mexico, where she served as a Communications Assistant for the athletic communications department while earning her B.A. in Strategic Communications/Journalism. She graduated Cum Laude, was named to the National Honor Society of Collegiate Scholars and was an active member of the Lobo Edge Advertising student group.

She served as the primary media contact for both nationally-ranked Division I men's and women's Lobo tennis teams. In addition, Schuessler ran the social media channels for several UNM sports, and designed media guides and graphics to further promote Lobo athletics. She also assisted with live national television broadcasts on ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPNU, CBS Sports, and Root Sports Network.

"Laura was an outstanding member of the communications staff here at the University of New Mexico," Kurt Esser, Sr. Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs, said. "She worked tirelessly to raise the profile of our tennis teams. She understands the traditional media and excels at the social and digital media platforms. Additionally, she loves the game and it showed in her work."
