SKILLMAN, NJ – Two new entries to the Top 10 are the highlight as Oracle and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the updated Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings for Division I women on Tuesday.
Pepperdine, from the West Coast Conference, moved up from No. 17 last week to No. 5 this week. The Waves (9-1) blanked then-No. 31 North Carolina State 7-0 on March 12, and earned a 6-1 victory against Long Beach State on March 10. Pepperdine’s lone loss this season came at the hands of the nation’s No. 2-ranked team, Ohio State, 4-3 in the 2016 ITA Kick-Off Weekend.
South Carolina is the other new team to crack the Top 10. The Gamecocks (12-2), winners of their last seven matches, defeated then-No. 5 Vanderbilt 4-3 on March 10 and then-No. 19 Kentucky 4-3 on March 12, to move up three places in the rankings to No. 9.

The Golden Bears were scheduled to play Pac-12 foes UCLA and USC last week, but both matches were postponed due to rain. California (12-0) returns to the courts on Saturday at 12 p.m. PT, as they play host to No. 5 Pepperdine.
