Oracle-ITA DI National Rankings Header-2017-01-04

TEMPE, Ariz. –
The Stanford women and Wake Forest men conclude the month of January where they began, as the No. 1-ranked teams in the country, as Oracle and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the updated Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Men’s and Women’s Division I National Team Rankings on Wednesday.

A national rankings panel voted on the Top 25 teams and will do so up to the ITA Division I National Team Indoor Championships in February. Upon the conclusion of the two national events, team rankings will transition to the computerized system.

There were three new additions to the Women’s Top 25, with Wake Forest, Northwestern and Washington joining the party at No. 21, No. 23 and No. 24, respectively. The Demon Deacons are headed to next month’s ITA Division I National Women’s Team Indoor Championship in Madison, Wisconsin (February 9-12), thanks to wins over Arkansas (then-No. 18, receiving votes this week) and host and top-seeded Ohio State (then-No. 14 and No. 22 this week) at last week’s ITA Kick-Off Weekend.

The SEC continues to lead all conferences with seven teams ranked in the Top 25, followed by the Pac-12 and ACC with five apiece.

Thanks to its victories over host Texas and Minnesota in ITA Kick-Off Weekend action, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are headed to the ITA Division I National Men’s Team Indoor Championship in Seattle, Washington, and moved into the Top 25 of the national team rankings. Notre Dame checks in at No. 23 this week.

The Big 12 has six men’s teams ranked in the Top 25, the most of any Division I conference.
