Cory Brooks - ITA Director of Championships

Brooks is currently the Director of Championships for the ITA, a position he has held since June of 2014.  

His duties include managing a championships department team that oversees and administers over 160 ITA sanctioned events annually.  Among those events are nine ITA national championships including the Oracle ITA Masters, ITA Oracle Cup, ITA Men’s and Women’s All American, USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships as well as the Division I and Division III Men’s and Women’s Team Indoor Championships.  Cory's team also administers the ITA Summer Circuit, a six week, 50 tournament circuit that sees participation from over 3,500 junior, collegiate and adult players across the country.  In addition to his championships responsibilities, Cory and his team also administer the Oracle ITA Rankings for Divisions I, II, III, NAIA and Junior College as well as oversee all rules and regulations enforcement for ITA sanctioned competition.

From 2007-2014, Cory served as Owner, President and Director of Tennis for Premier Tennis, Inc., an adult and junior tennis academy and retail business based out of the H-E-B Tennis Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.  In addition to his duties at Premier Tennis, Cory also served as manager of the H-E-B Tennis facility, a 20 outdoor/3 covered court facility that hosted over 20 major tournaments each year.  

Prior to 2007, Cory held the position of Director of Operations/Head Coach at the Denton Di Laura Tennis Academy, also based out of the H-E-B Tennis Center in Corpus Christi. Cory co-founded the academy in 2001 along with Steve Denton, current Head Men's Tennis Coach at Texas A&M University and Carlos Di Laura, former Pepperdine standout and Peruvian Davis Cup Captain.

From 2001-2006, Cory served as tournament director for the H-E-B Collegiate Invitational, a 16-team men's Division I invitational tournament and longest running collegiate team event in the country.  From 2002-2003, Cory served as tournament director for the ITA National Small College Championships, now the ITA Oracle Cup.

Cory is a 1997 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona.  His younger sister, Kendall, is currently the Women's Head Coach at Division II St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas.
